About the Event:
Join Japan Society of Boston staff and members for dinner and drinks to celebrate shinnenkai at Tsurutontan! Connect with JSB is a great way to get to know us better, meet other society members, practice your Japanese in a casual environment, and enjoy great food at Japanese restaurants in Boston!
Shinnenkai is the Japanese tradition of gathering with friends, family, and/or coworkers to celebrate the New Year with food and spirits. We welcome you to join our shinnenkai and toast the New Year!
Tsurutontan is a Japanese restaurant with multiple locations in Japan and the U.S., known for their specialty handmade udon dishes. They also serve a variety of appetizers, sushi, donburi, and more. See their website for full menu, the event will take place during their happy hour times. We will not be using their all you can eat option.
This event is open to JSB members only. Registrants are welcome to bring a plus one, but their guest must be included in the registration. All attendees should be prepared to pay for their own meal/drinks. A smartphone is required for their payment system for our event.
Please note that we often take photographs at events for our records and sometimes for use in public media such as Facebook and blog posts. Registering for an event generally signifies acknowledgment that your likeness may be used in these ways. If you are not comfortable with this, please let us know and we can accommodate you.
