About the Event:
Please join JSB for a private tour of the Longfellow House-Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site. This house was not only headquarters for General George Washington during the Siege of Boston, but also the home of famous American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
His son, Charles Appleton Longfellow, was an avid fan of Japanese culture and we will be primarily looking at his private collection of artifacts from the end of Japan's isolation period. This includes a viewing of their Japanese room and their current exhibit "Thoroughly Japanese."
This tour is open to the public as well as JSB members.
Please note that we often take photographs at events for our records and sometimes for use in public media such as Facebook and blog posts. Registering for an event generally signifies acknowledgment that your likeness may be used in these ways. If you are not comfortable with this, please let us know and we can accommodate you.
