THEME BASED JAPANESE CLASSES

We’re continuing to offer a series of one-time, theme-based Japanese online classes in September.  This is a great opportunity for people who would like to learn something about Japan while studying Japanese – or for those of you who aren’t ready to take a 12-week structured Japanese class but would like to try learning some Japanese.  Start with one or take all at $20 per class.

Thanks to the generous grant from the Japan Foundation, we now offer the theme-based class at $20!!

“JAPANESE GHOST STORIES”

Throughout Japanese history, "kaidan" stories have haunted readers with their frightening fables.  This class will bring you into the world of modern and classic Japanese ghost stories.  Learn some Japanese while talking about the ghostly "yurei" and "mononoke" spirits during this spooky session!   *Scary images and/or videos will be presented in class.  If horror makes you uncomfortable, taking this course is not recommended.

7PM-8PM

Wednesday, September 9th – Beginner

Monday, September 21st – Intermediate/Advanced

"IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE, JAPANESE CULTURE!!

Have you ever encountered a moment that made you pause and think, “Hold on! It doesn’t look quite right”? This class will help you better understand the uniqueness of Japanese culture and customs while learning some Japanese.  If you’ve ever had one of these situations, bring your own “cultural shock” experience to this fun-filled language learning experience!
