Ezra F. Vogel is the Henry Ford II Professor of the Social Sciences Emeritus at Harvard.  He is one of America's most distinguished scholars of both China and Japan.  He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Japan Society of Boston.  His long awaited biography of Deng Xiaoping, Deng Xiaoping and the Transformation of China, is already hailed as a major study of modern Chinese history.
