Class - Japanese Woodblock Prints

Every Tuesday, for 10 weeks starting April 9, 2019 from 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM

Learn to make hand printed, multi-color woodblock prints. First, you will learn to carefully carve wood blocks. Then, use your blocks to print with water-based pigments and paints on Japanese printmaking papers. Start by carving and printing a sample design provided by the instructor. Then move on to carving your own designs. Leave class with a collection of small, shared prints, and an understanding of the materials and tools needed to continue on your own.
