Concert: Genre-Defying "Mouse on the Keys"

Thursday November 15, 2018 at 7:00 PM

The Middle East, 472-480 Massachusetts Avenue,

Cambridge, MA 02139

"Mouse on the Keys" a jazz-infused post-rock band from Tokyo will be visiting Boston in November on their US tour. The band is composed of two keyboard players and a drummer, blending minimalist classical music with hard-hitting rock.

Writer Hisham Bharoocha in a 2014 interview with the band writes: "Their music evokes the sharp and fluid lines found in the structures of modern architects such as Kenzo Tange, as well as the expressionism of filmmakers such as Hiroshi Teshigahara. Apart from having their songs used in high-profile TV commercials, they are also known for their intense live shows, and collaboration with filmmaker MINORxU on the live DVD Irreversible, which documented an extensive 2011 tour in Europe."
