Japanese Calligraphy Workshop with Michiko Imai

In this workshop with Michiko Imai, you will explore the fundamentals of Japanese calligraphy writing techniques, and find the balance and flow within yourself through calligraphy practice. The workshop begins with a brief lecture about the tools of calligraphy, how they are used, and the history of Japanese calligraphy. They will also cover the Japanese writing system, and the difference between Japanese and western art. Michiko will discuss and demonstrate several basic strokes, and guide the participants to write a beautiful, simple word.
