Showa Boston
Summer Friendship Program for 5th & 6th Graders

Monday, August 6 to Saturday, August 11, 2018
Daily, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Want to make a Japanese friend? Want to learn more about Japanese culture--anime, manga, language, sushi, samurai? Then you'll enjoy the fun-filled activities at Showa Boston, a study abroad campus for Japanese students! Join them for arts and crafts and language learning with trips to the Museum of Science, the New England Aquarium, Swan Boats, Fenway Park, and the beach!

American 5th and 6th grade students can apply to become “Ambassadors for Boston” and participate in week long activities on the Showa Boston campus with Japanese 5th grade students from the Tokyo campus.  American students will learn about Japanese language and culture as well as share their own knowledge about American history and culture with their new friends. American students who are interested in making international friends or sharing their enthusiasm for the city of Boston are encouraged to apply.

Students will work in groups and participate in activities together to prepare them for field trips and excursions around the Boston area in the afternoons.  The friendship day starts at 9:00am and ends at 4pm.  The cost of the program is $250.00.  Lunch is not included.  A limited number of scholarships are available.
