This month's Brown Bag Luncheon will feature Kanoko Kamata, co-founder and former Executive Director of Community Organizing Japan (COJ). In 2013, Ms. Kamata launched COJ with her colleagues to train nonprofit organizations, union and youth in the community organizing framework, as well as offer coaching sessions for grassroots campaigns for women’s rights, victims of sex crimes, post-disaster recovery, and other issues. She is currently at Harvard conducting research on grassroots leadership development in Japan and the U.S.
