This one-day event, a continuation of the Dissolve Inequality (mitdissolve.mit.edu) series, will explore the question: How can a new era of music offer insights into dynamics that can reduce inequalities — gender, racial, economic, and more?
The event will feature panel discussions with artists, scholars and activists, as well as a networking dinner and musical performance in the evening featuring internationally acclaimed rapper Shing02 (from Japan), an artist-activist known in part for his opening theme song on the anime “Samurai Champloo.” Other musical guests include the A-Beez (local jazz funk legends) and Toshiya the Tribal (also from Japan).
