Brown Bag Luncheon

Peter Grilli, JSB President Emeritus

Most of our members and friends know Peter Grilli from the two decades he has spent energetically connecting Japan and Boston as the former director of the Japan Society of Boston.

For this Brown Bag Luncheon, he will be sharing a few excerpts from the award winning documentary film he helped produce: Paper Lanterns, followed by a discussion. Paper Lanterns has touched lives across the world since its release in February 2016. The film tells the story of peace activist Shigeaki Mori, who tracked down the bereaved American families of twelve servicemen killed in the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima in 1945.

Learn more about Mr. Mori, about the production of the film, and about how the project continues today.

Feel free to bring your own lunch, and let us know if you are coming!

President Obama hugs Shigeaki Mori, the subject of the documentary film Paper Lanterns, produced by Peter Grilli and directed by Barry Frechette.
